So, I guess I should address the elephant in the room:
Spack is back.
What happened
Back in, oh 2019, I started blogging here on spackchats.com . I loved writing, and I wanted a place.
A place to compile and share important things. A place to send people for a complete answer to questions I commonly got, like “Why has your diet changed?” or “How did you know it was time to start a family?” A place to reach the girls out there and spare them some grief by sharing the things I wish someone had told me before I messed up (a lot).
So I posted blog posts here and there, and I even tried (briefly) to add in the audio and video stuff, too. But life happened. I had my second kid. I posted a couple more times, then pulled a “last airbender” and vanished.
In the last few years, I have:
- Moved to Missouri.
- Had another baby.
- Started a pro-life nonprofit for Latter-day Saints.
- Created a public-facing Instagram profile to share the gospel.
- Learned more homemaking skills, like baking sourdough bread and cooking rice in a rice cooker (my most challenging recipe to nail down, I fear).
While this was never the highest on the priority list, Spack Chats was often on my mind. Someday, I’d be back.
Then, about six months ago, I got the amazing opportunity to start up a podcast. And, to my surprise, audience polling overwhelmingly said to use the name, “Spack Chats.”
So here we are again.
What can you expect now from Spack Chats?
Spack Chats (the Show): Season 1
Spack Chats is THE show for Latter-day Saint girls age 15-25. We’re talking about things like:
- Dating
- Anxiety at church
- Missions
- College
- Having kids
… Basically, if it’s something related to the major life decisions, challenges, and questions girls are actually facing in their own lives, we want to talk about it. I want this to be a place where you can find relatable, practical advice through a faithful and positive lens.
You can watch on YouTube or listen on Apple or Spotify. Season 1 runs this spring-midsummer, coming out weekly.

Spack Chats (the Blog)
My goal is to post on here weekly as well; the posts may or may not align with the show content coming out, but I may often link to episodes as they relate to the posts here.
This is still where I share my life stories and perspectives, but I also intend to intersperse more practical advice, Q&A type content here, too.
(If you have a question, I’d love to hear it! Send me an email at spackchats@gmail.com.)
Help me, help the girls
Not to be a Debby downer, but I have to be real here… I’ve spent my young adult years watching helplessly as my friends, my sisters in Christ, have left the Church and headed down dark paths.
All it takes is a couple months of distance from God, a few weeks of listening to the voices of the world, and one critical decision that changes everything.
If the girls out there don’t get things right at this important point in their lives, it can derail their lives and their testimonies really quickly.
We need to reach them, and we need to help them catch a vision for their futures and make choices that will set themselves up for success!
But let’s be honest: the YouTube Latter-day Saint content out there is largely masculine. It’s often too academic (read: borinnnng), too unrelatable, too negative, too argumentative. Sometimes even false. And I fear a lot of our girls may struggle to see where they fit into this Church and how living the gospel can actually look for them.
Spack Chats fills that gap.

Spack Chats is here for your regular 21st-century Latter-day Saint girl who wants to live the gospel of Jesus Christ, but there are a lot of tough challenges and decisions in the way. This is a safe place to land where girls can learn, connect, laugh, get ideas, and be encouraged in both their practical life and in their faith.
If I continue past season 1 depends a lot on you! If you want to see more of this stuff, here are 2 main ways you can support this mission:
1. Share!
If you want to support that mission, please share this content with the girls in your life!
Is your daughter trying to decide if she should attend BYU? Send her the BYU pros and cons episode!
Is your sister considering a mission? Send her the mission video!
Is your friend struggling getting started dating? Send her to our 2-part dating series!
2. Subscribe!
Subscribe to Spack Chats on YouTube, Apple, and/or Spotify!
That tells the algorithm that people like this show and will send it to more people! (Plus, you’ll be more likely to see it in your feed so you don’t miss future episodes, too!)
